Metizo partners with France Telecom’s Beijing R&D Centre
Metizo is very pleased to have begun a new partnership with France Telecom’s R&D Center in Beijing. In May and June 2007, Metizo conducted training courses for newly-hired employees at the Centre. The courses were designed by Metizo to suit the specific needs of France Telecom (FT), and supported the implementation of FT’s coaching program for new hires.
The course participants were recent graduates, and the training was designed to help these young people tackle the challenges of their first job. The topics discussed included professionalism, identity change, cross-cultural knowledge and how to design a personal learning plan.
In addition, the Metizo team trained FT top managers on coaching techniques and how to conduct a coaching session. They were also taught how to set coaching objectives in order to improve their skill, and to make the program even more valuable to the coachees.
The task of helping fresh graduates adapt to their first professional position is one faced by companies everywhere, but which has particular challenges for a foreign enterprise in China. Metizo excels in providing mentoring programs that help new hires adjust faster to their new environment and become quickly effective with the help of an internal mentor; our China office is developing a new program specifically prepared for the Chinese context. The France Telecom project gave Metizo China the opportunity to use our expertise for the first time on behalf of a major French company.
