New Product: Cultural Intelligence Programs
Starting in 2008, Metizo will add a new long-term development program to its personal development backbone for business schools and companies. This long-term program is to develop cultural intelligence, in partnership with Singapore’s Center for Leadership and Cultural Intelligence, based in Nanyang Technological University. Metizo is proud to partner with one of the world’s most advanced research institutions in this field.

Metizo Training at Nanyang Center for Leadership & Cultural Intelligence.
The old culture models simply compared anthropological measures across national cultures: training was a question of knowing the stereotypes: “Germans are like this, Chinese are like that”. Metizo CEO Bob Aubrey tried this foundation 15 years ago for corporate training, and dropped it because of its superficiality. The new model is not limited to national characteristics; it works for corporate cultures, industry cultures and market cultures.
Intelligence is not a question of knowing about a culture: it is a combination of four components:
- Motivation: why and how much does the individual want to learn?
- Knowledge: what does the individual know and how to learn more?
- Behavior: what does the individual do to adapt and relate to people?
- Strategy: to what extent is the individual capable of thinking differently about his or her own cultural attitudes, values and behaviors and changing them to become more effective?
What Metizo brings to the partnership is our ability to provide personalized support, follow-up, coaching and assessment to individuals in a learning program where results are assessed after several months.
Metizo and the Nanyang team will start this work with SAP Labs China for the FASTtrack intelligence program.
