Developing new hires with ConocoPhillips China

In December 2007 Metizo launched the ConocoPhillips China mentoring program for young employees. The program will last 9 months, ending in July 2008. For Metizo this collaboration with a major oil company marks the our entry into a new industry sector.

ConocoPhillips (COP) was founded in 2002 by the merger of two American oil companies, Conoco and Phillips. The company now ranks fifth of the Fortune 500 companies, and has adopted mentoring worldwide. Driven by their CEO, mentoring has been recognized by COP as one of the best methods of ensuring the transfer of knowledge to younger generations and so face the major demographic challenges of our century. In China, mentoring is also used for transferring leadership from headquarters to the regional level.

With experience in education internationally including several major Chinese universities (Tsinghua, Beijing University, Renmin University and recently Jiaotong University), and 6 years’ presence in the Chinese market, Metizo has developed a strong expertise in developing young graduates into strong professionals in China. Metizo excels in providing mentoring programs that help new hires adjust faster to their new environment and become quickly effective with the help of an internal mentor.
