Metizo: The Personal Development Company

Programs

Metizo processes come with certification, a system unique to us. Certification is built in to all of our programs, and is offered at a number of different levels. The same certification process is used for both our corporate and academic clients, and is applied in the same way in every country where we operate. This means that clients can be assured that participants are being trained to exacting global standards.

Note that certificates are not awarded automatically. They are not given to everybody just for turning up, as can be the case elsewhere. Our programs derive their value from the intensive work that participants are required to do in self-assessment and career planning. Participants who are judged as not having put in the work can be, and have been, refused certification.

Corporate Programs

We offer two standard programs for corporate clients:

  • a 9-month mentor-mentee training program
  • a 3-month manager-employee training program

The two programs have different purposes, as outlined below.

Mentor-mentee training

The main target group for this program would be high-potential young- or middle-managers, who have been identified as possible future leaders of the company. The course prepares them to consider their personal and career aims in great detail, allowing them, and the company, to develop an appropriate career path within the organisation.
Simultaneously, it will train the people currently in senior management roles in how best to transfer their knowledge and experience to the next generation. With Metizo’s active and in-depth support, this is learned by doing.

Typically, mentors will not be drawn from the mentee’s direct line of report, and will often be from a different part of the organisation. At the end of the mentor-mentee program, both mentors and mentees will be assessed and, when appropriate, certified according to Metizo’s rigorous standards.

Manager-employee training

Less in-depth than the longer course, the 3-month manager-employee course is aimed at the annual review process. Frequently, managers are able to discuss performance, but are poorly prepared for discussing their subordinates’ plans for the future in a meaningful way. This can be a cause for disaffection or dissatisfaction amongst employees, who can sometimes feel that they are not being listened to. Participation in this course can help employees to feel comfortable articulating their hopes for the future, and managers to be able to discuss these hopes in a supportive and positive manner. Certification at the end of the 3-month manager-employee is optional, and will depend on the needs of specific client organisations.
